"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us."
As I reflect on this passage from Romans, I cannot help but think of this experience here at NeighborLink this summer. NeighborLink has challenged me to not conform to this world, to love my neighbors, and to allow Christ to be a part of our daily lives. Ultimately, I learned to serve each other through the guidance of Christ.
I learned how the beauty of different gifts could come to make this world a better place! Each of us on the NeighborLink team this summer (Beth, Bethany, Amanda, Andrew etc.) had our unique gifts, which all came together. I remember our first couple of days wondering how we all were going to mesh, and today it is clear to me that God had his hand in this organization. I have not only learned more about Public Relations and the non-profit world, but I have also gained life lessons, created new friendships, and built in my relationship with Christ.
Our last full day as a team occurred yesterday. Beth & Bethany are both out of the office today and it is my last day. It's been a fun, eventful, crazy, hectic, silly learning experience and I am so incredibly thankful for it. God is Great!
