It has been a while since I've written, but I recently felt compelled to share some love from our NeighborLink family. I am currently working on a journalistic project for our Year-End Celebration by telling the stories of those who have received help from NeighborLink volunteers. As I continue to interview and talk to people on the phone, it is evident that we are doing some things right. Through the process of connecting with various neighbors, I have spoken and heard the stories of many. I wanted to share with you just one of those stories I heard through an email I received.
I would love to assist you in your project, however, I am currently dealing with a very sick mother and don't know when I could give you the time you need. I will say that the groups of people that have assisted me at my mobile home have done so effectively, and made me feel that I was not a loser. They assisted me and I was able to keep my dignity intact. The last group even sent me a gift card to start my garden this summer. I still have a leaking roof, ie, I need my roof replaced and my ductwork still needs fixed: but the other projects were completed effectively. A big Thank You to all.
A loving Neighbor
We all have been impacted in some shape or form through out our involvements with this organization. I am continuously encouraged by the love I witness from every angle. We see that love on display through a woman caring for her mother and in volunteers caring for their that same woman. The cycle is beautiful. May we continue to love each other and spread Christ's example to each person we encounter!
**Side note, we hope to see you all at our Year-End Celebration on Dec 3rd at the Wundkammer Art Gallery! What a great way to celebrate the family we have grown over the past 10 years! RSVP at Small Things: Year End Celebration
