From July 10th - 14th, NeighborLink Fort Wayne will be hosting our first ever "Be a Good Neighbor Week." Over the course of this week, we will have organized projects available for anyone to join us at any point in the week for a few hours, an entire day, or even the entire week. We know that getting started with any new volunteer opportunity or organization can be intimidating, so we're going to do all the hard work so you can show up, engage, and learn more about how small things can transform neighborhoods with a little hard work. We believe that the power to transform our neighborhoods and city is within anyone willing to put on some gloves, grab a hammer, and be a good neighbor by offering a tangible act of kindness to a neighbor dealing with life's circumstances.
We've chosen a few projects to get the week started and depending on how many register to join us or how quickly the projects get completed, we'll add more projects to accommodate everyone. We've chosen projects that we believe anyone can volunteer for regardless of skill, ability, or age.
The next steps for you are to commit to a time frame, sign up for one the projects, and we'll be in touch with all the details. Come alone, bring a friend, your workplace, your family, or anyone that you think would love to volunteer this week. Join us as we help vulnerable neighbors with tangible home repairs and maintenance so their quality of life can be improved. Neighbors helping neighbors is never a bad thing. We're going to be flexible this week and anticipate having some post-work hours available for those unable to join us during the day. The barrier to entry is only going to be what stands in your way of making a decision to join us.
After 14 years of connecting neighbors, we know that any time you spend volunteering with us will be time well spent. Details on how to sign up and what projects we'll be doing will be at this link. We hope you'll join us for a few hours or a few days.
