These are certainly unprecedented times, and we are seeing the heavy complexity vulnerable homeowners are dealing with while living in place. NeighborLink is teaming up with the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne this coming Tuesday, May 5th for the #GivingTuesdayNow campaign.
NeighborLink is raising funds to help hire contractors to assist with technical, emergent projects such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC for our vulnerable neighbors. These projects are difficult for us to complete given the circumstances surrounding COVID-19 but are essential for independent living.
Currently, we have approximately 60 different, emergent-type projects that are making living in place difficult for homeowners. For example, this funding could help the neighbor battling cancer with plumbing problems inside their home or help a veteran with a non-functioning water heater.
#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. #GivngTuesdayNow hopes to connect nonprofits in Allen County with generous members of the community who love your organizations and want to help.
We are asking for your help on Tuesday, May 5th from 7 am – 7 pm to help us raise funds towards projects for vulnerable neighbors in our community. There will be different surprise matching opportunities throughout the day offered by the Community Foundation. You can donate online at cfgfw.org/donate and select NeighborLink.
Thank you for supporting our neighbors.
