I'm excited to announce that we have 3 paid internship opportunities available for this summer. We're looking to increase our capacity through the use of internships to meet the demand on our organization both locally and nationally. We've had great success with interns in the past and believe they offer great value to a small organization like ours. They bring energy, excitement, and the desire to make a difference immediately.
We're looking for the following positions:
1. Public Relations – Our goal this summer is to continue solidifying our brand locally and to begin establishing on a national context the NeighborLink Network presence in publications and events. We need someone to research and develop a plan for implementing this goal. This individual would also be responsible for regularly developing blog content and writing press releases for the organization. The ideal candidate must have proven writing experience.
2. Operations Coordinator – Keeping up with our day-to-day operations is a huge job and we need someone who is awesome at handling details, great at follow-through, and loves interacting with people! Responsibilities include managing our website by posting and updating projects, interacting with volunteers and answering questions, responding to requests for assistance in the community, organizing volunteer training sessions, and building relationships with local churches. Besides the skills already mentioned, ideal candidates must be comfortable on the phone.
3. Youth Program Coordinator – We are regularly contacted by youth organizations looking to serve in our community. This individual would be responsible for engaging with these organizations and developing one-time and weeklong service outlets specifically geared towards high school students. Ideal candidates must have strong leadership skills, a heart for seeing students serve and engage in local community issues, and be comfortable leading basic home maintenance projects (painting, yard work, etc).
Full details and how to apply can be found at this page on the website.
Please share it with any college juniors of seniors you know looking for opportunities this Summer.
