The interns are here and already cracking down. As the new Public Relations intern, I could not be more excited about officially getting started and I know the rest of the girls agree.
This summer Bethany Stettenbenz will be taking on the role as the Youth Development Coordinator Intern. Bethany is currently a graduate student at IUPUI studying Public Affairs. She is especially looking forward to how this summer will challenge her in the role of helping link individuals with their community, all while watching them grow during the process as well.
Beth Hicks will be serving as the Operations Coordinator Intern. A senior at Taylor University studying Marketing & Management-Systems, Beth loves NeighborLink’s focus on local missions and the goal of connecting neighbors and building relationships to show God’s love.
Amanda Howard is a junior studying software engineering at Indiana Tech. Her experience with computer programming and software will aid her as the Web Applications Development Intern. Amanda is excited for the opportunity to learn while embracing the mission of NeighborLink.
As for myself, my name is Holly Durkee, and I will be the Public Relations Intern over the course of the summer. I am a senior at the University of Saint Francis studying Communication. From day one, I fell in love with the mission of NeighborLink, specifically the emphasis on building lasting relationships with our fellow neighbors. God's love is working through this organization, and I cannot wait to see where he takes us over the summer!
We had a great couple of first days filled with lots of need-to-know information about the beautiful mission of NeighborLink. The first day Andrew sat us down and poured out the story of NL while explaining the goals he has for us through out the summer. We also had the opportunity to meet the NL family during a delicious cookout. After meeting and talking with everyone, it proved difficult not to feel right at home.
As you can see, we are hard at work already with Beth making phone calls to clean up the project list on the website, Bethany connecting with her future Youth Development contacts, and myself taking the lovely picture for this blog!
Here is to a summer of building up the NL community and spreading Christ’s love.
