If you have not already noticed we have been posting videos and events with the title "Small Things”. While I was discerning interning at NL, I specifically recall watching a video with a beautiful family making dinner for fellow neighborhood friends who just had a baby. After watching the short video, I remember looking down at the goose bumps on my arms. If you have not seen it yet, here it is once again:
How simple of an act preparing dinner for another family is, yet it demonstrates great love.
Sometimes I forget just how much impact the simplest of acts of God’s love can affect others, and beyond that can affect change. Joining the NeighborLink team not too long ago, I see what amazing results stem from building relationships with the people we encounter daily whether that is in sharing a smile, asking if someone needs to talk, or cooking a neighbor a meal. Our actions can implement an insurmountable amount of joy and happiness that helps shine God’s light on this earth.
Reflecting on this, allows me to see how here at NeighborLink we are in a continuous strand of doing the small things, but all these small things add up to one big force of change in the Fort Wayne community. That is our goal as an organization, and what a beautiful goal it is to embrace.
I cannot wait to continue learning more through the interactions I have here at NeighborLink.
