Roxann is living with a disability which disallows her to be as mobile as she would desire. Her back porch, made of cement, is cracked, with jagged edges which could cause her to trip or lose her balance. Due to this danger, Roxann has been stuck inside for the past 7 years, yet she is one who loves the outdoors! It has been her dream to have a porch with an area she can sit watching the birds fly, and the rabbits jump around, not to mention the fresh air! A wonderful group from Simpsonville Christian Church has taken on Roxann's project dedicating two and a half days this week to helping out our dear neighbor. This team is being led by a contractor who will build her a beautiful, safe porch. The group of children will be building her a bird house along with a few flower planters for the porch. Roxann is elated! By Saturday evening she will have an area all to her own. She has already planned where she can put a table to eat, and chair to sit to watch the small animals. While sitting with her this morning she told Holly and me that they are doing more than she ever imagined could be possible. That is awesome to hear, and also amazing to see how one person's life can be altered in such a big way. I will be posting pictures as the project progresses. Keep a lookout for the final completion of this project! We are all very excited!
