Love your neighbor.

COVID-19 Update:

COVID-19 has required us to adjust our normal volunteer process but is presenting us with new ways to serve our neighbors - in some ways we've always been able to serve, and in ways we don't quite have a clear picture.

We must all change our practices for the good of ourselves and our neighbors. Our mission has to be done out of love to our recipients and to not place them in any more danger in which they otherwise would be apart from our intervention/assistance.

Volunteerism Changes and Recommendations

Small groups can meet together with minimal risk under the following recommendations:

  1. No one present is currently sick or has any reason to think they have been exposed to SARS-CooV-2.
  2. Comply with State and Local regulations and recommendations.
  3. Wear face coverings in most public settings, including indoor spaces and outdoor spaces when it's not possible to socially distance by 6 feet. Exceptions to this include medical purposes, strenuous physical activity, and eating or drinking.
  4. Change your greetings by eliminating or reducing your physical touch for the time being.
  5. Eliminate carpooling to job sites. Drive with masks and increased ventilation, if it is a must.
  6. Eliminate transportation related projects for the time being.
  7. Disinfect shared surfaces (tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) before and after the project.
  8. Everyone washes their hands thoroughly (more than 20 seconds) upon arrival and upon returning to your home or on the project.
  9. Food and drink are served individually.
  10. As much distance as possible is maintained between members of different households and their belongings.

The health and safety of our volunteers and our neighbors is of utmost importance to us at NeighborLink.

* Due to COVID-19, Transportation projects have been suspended from being able to be selected on the NLFW website. We are still collecting the needs and will re-open them once we determine the best way to respond that is safe for those we're transporting and our volunteers.
