Video production has been a vital component of NeighborLink's communication strategy and a contributor to our success over the past five years. Simply put, it helps "humanize" our work. Video is the best tool for creating connections between the work we're doing, the neighbors we're trying to help, and our network of partners when we can't be physically together. Video allows us to make an emotional connection, provides a more complete picture of the needs we see met and the work we do, while helping connect you in a personal way to those involved. This kind of connectivity is needed now more than ever as we work to respond to COVID-19 and its aftermath.

We believe you understand this truth. We also know how integral mobile phones, teleconferencing, and webcam videos have become in recent times. All of these tools are relevant, needed, and more powerful than ever before. As such, it's never been easier to share stories to a wider-reaching audience with just the click of a button.

However, there are times when your message could benefit from higher production value and some outside help or feedback- especially when it comes to you asking for additional support from the community or sharing the impact of what your donors have helped make happen.

This is where NeighborLink wants to help: by offering our video production team, Neighboring Productions, for free video production, editing, or consulting assistance over the next 4-6 weeks.

Foellinger Foundation has awarded NeighborLink Fort Wayne with a $25,000 Innovative Rapid Grant. This grant will be used to provide video production services to help Allen County 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations tell the stories of how they are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic with a goal of raising awareness, communicating with key stakeholders, and soliciting the assistance they need most at this time. NeighborLink will provide support to 25 nonprofit organizations on a first come, first served basis at no cost to those who are providing direct, immediate relief to Fort Wayne residents. Videos will be developed in partnership with the organization and will be designed to help communicate what’s most important to them right now.

Project Parameters:

Each qualified nonprofit will receive 6-8 hours of free video production support in one of the following ways:

  • Full Video Creation - Shooting, editing, and all aspects of production for a single 1-3 minute video that can be created in a full business day.
  • Editing Support - We'll be happy to help you with the editing of client provided content. Could be more than one video depending on needs.
  • Communication & Technical Consulting - Leverage our expertise about storytelling, equipment needs and usage, production considerations (such as light and audio), and/or how to edit projects.
  • Additional video production support for additional projects can be estimated at the time of a pre-production meeting.

  • Must be a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization in Allen County.
