Videos: Team NeighborLink Cyclocross Team
Team NeighborLink uses athletics to raise awareness and funds for neighbors in need. Is our vision to combine the sports we love with our passions for seeing healthy neighborhoods developed by taking care of the most vulnerable homeowners. We volunteer together, tell stories about neighbors in need, and fundraise to cover expenses related to buying materials to fix tangible home repairs.
This year, we created an cyclocross team that travels to races all over Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky to spend our weekends engaging with the vibrant, community oriented people that make up the cyclocross community. Each weekend, hundreds gather to spend all day hanging out, racing, and encouraging one another to go faster, have more fun, and celebrate the things we love about racing bikes. We have a growing number of Team NeighborLink members getting into cyclocross and we've simply brought that energy to the races.
We set out with the goal to raise enough money to cover the costs of installing 2 furnaces in Fort Wayne and 2 furnaces in Indianapolis, where our team members come from. In addition to those furnaces, we set goals to raise awareness and to really spend time getting to know each other in an effort to be unified as a team. We've been able to be successful so far and even have some incredible race results along the way.
We have a lot of sponsors to thank for making this possible. Giant Bicycles, Bicycle Garage Indy, and SRAM all donated the necessary elements to give our elite racer two race bikes that will be sold at the end of the year to help fund the projects. Parkview Sports Medicine, Custom Living, INC, Nathan Alan Designs, and Vorderman Volkswagen have all donated funding or in-kind support to help us cover our travel and gear expenses to make this season happen. We certainly would not have been as successful without their belief in our vision and mission.
